Disability Resources
The University of Michigan’s commitment to diversity and inclusiveness includes individuals who have disabilities.
Students
The University is committed to the academic success, personal development and general health of all students. As such, students with disabilities are encouraged to explore study abroad opportunities and to work with the disability services office on their campus in order to identify appropriate off-campus programs and accommodations. The University is obligated to make a reasonable accommodation to the known disability of an otherwise qualified student. In general, it is the responsibility of the student to make their disability status and subsequent need for an accommodation known to the appropriate University official. Students wishing to receive services must register with their UM campus disability services office. For students with disabilities, it is very important for the success of your off-campus experience, that you fully disclose your disabilities and request appropriate accommodations, as early as possible. All disclosures will be treated confidentially and shared only with those officials who have a need to have access to this information. The University’s non-discrimination policy prohibits unlawful disability discrimination, harassment or retaliation.
